Quantum Security Leader ISARA Corp. Retains Cyber-Security Expert Hawkins Group to Expand Defense Practice

Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Ronnie Hawkins Jr. and the Hawkins Group to help lead Military Technology Policy and Strategy

WATERLOO, Ontario (June 7th, 2018) – ISARA Corp., the leading provider of security solutions for the quantum age, announced today that it has partnered with Hawkins Group as a cybersecurity advisor in Washington, D.C. led by the former Director of the Defense Information Systems Agency.

Hawkins Group, founded by U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Ronnie Hawkins Jr., provides strategic advisory & cybersecurity services for federal and commercial organizations. Hawkins, whose military career spanned four decades, was the first commander of the Joint Force Headquarters-Department of Defense Information Networks (JFHQ-DODIN), where he served for both the Commander of the U.S. Cyber Command and the Department of Defense’s Chief Information Officer.

“Large-scale quantum computing will present incredible opportunities for society, but it also presents significant threats,’’ said Paul Lucier, Vice President of Business Development for ISARA. “Ronnie Hawkins and his team understand the gravity of those threats and can provide assistance as we work with the U.S. government to prepare for that new age. It is essential to begin preparing today to protect confidential documents, state secrets and high-value assets from the advent of large-scale quantum computing.’’

Hawkins Group will advise ISARA in working with the Department of Defense to migrate systems to quantum-safe security – a complex task that requires agencies and organizations to begin planning now. Because of the way they process information, quantum computers are expected to be able to break current encryption standards and put sensitive information at risk. ISARA is the global leader in helping organizations secure data with quantum-safe solutions.

“As we have already witnessed, the wars of the future will be fought over information on virtual battlegrounds,” said Hawkins. “Quantum capability presents an entirely new threat to the United States and its allies. It’s vital that we are armed with security measures that recognize both the power and potential of quantum computing. The Hawkins Group is pleased to work with ISARA to ensure this happens.”
